Hephaestus is the God of many things and most are related to forge, fire, and metalworking. He is the God of Fire, Forges on Mount Olympus and Lemnos, metal working, blacksmiths, and architecture. He is also the god of volcanoes because when he was thrown off Mount Olympus by Zeus, me made fires in the bottoms of craters and it would create a volcano. When he was thrown out he landed on Lemnos which is an island that he made his palace under a volcano.

The hammer and the pair of tongs are the most commonly seen as the symbols of Hephaestus. Other symbols used to describe him are the anvil, hammer, fire quail, and riding a donkey.
